Pregnancy Week By Week. Fruit/Vegetable Series.

I've had a lot of people asking to continue with the fruit series with B's pregnancy. She's half done with her pregnancy, and we have been consistent with taking weekly photos of her bump, and the corresponding fruit.

Boy Or Girl?

How did you tell your family it was a boy or a girl? I love these photos I did for my friend. The vintage blocks pop! She's having a boy, obviously. They are naming him Desmond. Cute, huh?

Finding the Perfect Balloons.

I love large, round balloons. I have been seeing them all over blogs and at parties for the last year or so and have been searching the online shops for the perfect ones! One of my BFF's had her baby shower this past spring and ordered a large bag of wholesale balloons under the assumptions that they were round, and was even assured by the online retailer that they were exactly what she was searching for. When we started to set up her shower, and started to fill the balloons we immediately realized that they were just regular ole balloons. If you're searching you need to go to Shop Sweet Lulu and check out her large variety of almost any color, and even patterned balloons! I ordered the 36" and when we filled them they were not filled to capacity because my husband was unsure that if he had they would not fit in our car! That's how large these balloons are. They lasted almost four days before they started to deflate, and then roamed around our house at eye level because they were too pretty to get rid of! We made sure to take plenty of pictures with the balloons:

Welcome Holiday Season!

I'm trying to get into the holiday spirit, really I am! I'm just having a rough go at it this year. I think the abnormally warm weather is messing with my mind. Last year I was on maternity leave during the holidays and had our house decked out before Thanksgiving! So, to usher in the holidays I present to you the BEST family Christmas video greeting- EVER! I found this last year, and have watched it about 110x now. This truly makes me excited to decorate for Christmas this weekend. DIY Cake Bunting

 I love pretty, simple birthday cakes. I looked to The Sweetest Occasion blog for inspiration for the boys birthday cake. We had a neapolitan cake {vanilla, chocolate, strawberry} for anyone who does not know what neapolitan cake is. I also love simple, pretty birthday cake toppers. I am not a fan of characters, and my son isn't really either. I used this DIY cake bunting tutorial but made it my own by using a different pattern paper punch. I love the triangles tho! Although by the time my cake topper got onto the cake it had been handled by all of the kids at the party, so it was no where near perfect; but that's ok it was my first try!

Milk Carton Printables.

When I found the Milk and Cookies theme, I instantly thought about how cute it would be to send each child home with a set of cookies and a cold milk as a "thank you" for coming. I started to search pinterest for cute packaging to fit our vintage feel, and came across these free printables via The Sweetest Occasion Blog, and Paper Crave. How Sweet are these?

I originally wanted to give each child one of these mini boxes filled with bite size chocolate chip cookies, but wanted to test my idea out before cutting, taping, and gluing twenty three boxes. Thank heavens I did! I  went to our local Staples and had three printed. Each cost me $1 to print on card stock, and came out beautifully! I came home and put them together and immediately decided that A. What four year old is going to appreciate my blood, sweat, and tears I put into cutting each of these perfectly, and B. All my hard work is going to end up in the garbage immediately or eventually. It made me too sad to think about, so I incorporated them on to the dessert table.

Mustache Fun.

I love the look of felt mustaches for birthday parties! So, I could not help incorporating them into the boys birthday. I work a full time job, and it's hectic so I usually have little time to spend crafting. I was planning on just ordering them from Etsy and paying someone else to do the work for me, but then I found this tutorial! I also used black felt in lieu of black construction paper so that they would be a bit stronger around 4 and 5 year olds. This project was so easy to do and it cost me about $1.50 to make more than enough mustaches to go around! My only mistake is that I purchased flat straws! Oh well, there is always next year!

This pick was actually found by my husband, and we all immediately started to ooh and ahh over it. Hudson loves anything having to do with technology or video games, and becomes easily obsessed with such things so we have to limit his video game intake. So, this would be the perfect gift for him! The laptop is about 2.5cm thick and is assumed to weigh less than a MacBook Air. How adorable, right? At around $55 it's a fabulous find!

Long Pause.

Sorry for the long pause in my blogging. I have been extremely busy with the boys birthdays, our eldest son having numerous appointments, and just life in general. I promise I'll be back soon! I have so much fun stuff to blog about after our fun party! See you all super soon!

Milk and Cookies Party!

I pulled off my first theme birthday party, and it was successful! We had a milk and cookies themed party for the boys, and it was tons of fun! Who doesn't love fun dessert and cold refreshing milk? Here's a few snapshots from the party. I'm so happy with how it all turned out. I'm planning on doing a post just on where we found all of the fun little things for the party, such as the invitations, balloons, milk carton printables.
